Building a Social Media Brand Persona

Differentiating your brand from its competitors is critical to your success on Social Media. You must find an audience and appeal to them. If you build a brand personality, your followers will become brand advocates. Of course, this is easier said than done. Building a brand persona takes a concentrated effort, and its management must be maintained.

One thing is for sure: if you want to be visible in your industry, you must be visible on Social Media because that is where a majority of your consumers will find you.  Having a brand personality that customers can relate to and a Social Media presence that resonates with them will create a meaningful relationship between your business and your customers.

So, how do you create a brand persona? If you don’t have time to manage your company’s Social Media presence, hiring a Social Media manager or enlisting an office manager would be the first step. Having a witty, effective communicator who manages your Social Media is important to building a brand persona that will last. Look for someone who writes well and has a lot of experience producing content. Sit down with trusted people in your company and brainstorm what you want your brand to be. Ask some of these questions:

  • What do you want to be known for?
  • Who is your target audience?
  • What Social Media platforms will your target audience be present on?
  • What type of content is your target audience interested in?
