iPhone 5 launch expected October 7

Unless you ignore consumer electronics hype, you are aware of the upcoming iPhone 5. Excitement seems to grow every year for Apple’s newest iPhone release, and this year is no exception. The latest rumors peg an Oct. 7 release date, but that’s not confirmed yet. The iPhone 5 is also expected to be introduced on the Sprint network, and an older version of the iPhone may become available on a “pay-as-you-go” service. Apple fanatics are raving about the possibility of a larger 4.3-inch screen, the latest iOS5 operating system, a higher megapixel camera and 1080p video recording. Odds are great there will be other surprise features and upgrades which is sure to have Apple fans lining up by the tens-of-thousands.

Whether you’re an iPhone, Droid or Blackberry user, it is becoming increasingly obvious that smartphones are taking over the mobile market. Some estimates indicate that mobile web usage will take over desktop web usage in the year 2013. September’s Web Expert of the Month is Todd Stoffer. Todd is so important he has two titles: Systems Administrator as well as Strategic Projects Coordinator. Todd excels at everything we throw at him’ he helped launch our popular Social Media services, integrated our new Live Chat feature at markethardware.com , manages our office computer networks, and builds Mobile Websites for clients (hence his interest in the iPhone 5). Todd grew up in Colorado, went to college at Colorado State, and is an experienced world traveler (usually staying at hostels). He recently became engaged to his lovely girlfriend, Alyson. Smartphone Factoid:

82.2 million people in the U.S. owned a smartphone as of July 2011, a full 10% increase from April 2011. Google is the market leader with 41.8% market share, up from 36.4% in April. Apple is number 2 with 27% market share, up from 26% (source: ComScore).
